PRIVACY POLICY for Patents
We take the privacy rights of my patents very seriously. This privacy policy sets out how we deal with your personal information, that is, information that could identify, or is related to the identity of, an individual.
What personal information do we collect?
In order to treat you, we will ask you to provide certain information. This includes:
Name
Gender
Date of birth
Home address
Email address
Telephone number
Medical history
To this, over time, we will add details of the conditions and symptoms for which you have consulted me and the remedies and other therapies that we have prescribed or recommended.
How do we collect this personal information?
All the information collected is obtained directly from you. This is usually at the point of your initial consultation. The information may be collected via any information or medical history you submit, or during the first consultation. Your consent is required in order to ensure our compliance with data protection legislation. By booking a consultation on our online diary, we will ask if you consent to these terms. During our subsequent consultations we shall add to this initial information according to what you tell us. This information will be stored on our personal computer which is password protected and backed up in case of corruption. Patient folders are password protected.
How long do we keep your personal information?
Your information will be stored for 7 years after your last consultation. For children, we will keep the health records for a period of 7 years after their 18th birthday, as is required by our licence to practice. At that point, your file will be securely destroyed and any digital information will be erased from our computer systems.
How do use this personal information?
We use your personal information to analyse the conditions for which you have consulted us and to prescribe remedies and other therapies. We shall communicate with you by email, by telephone or video call, or messaging service online and through the internet.
With whom do we share your personal information?
We do not share your personal information with anyone.
How your information can be updated or corrected
To ensure that we have accurate and up-to-date information, you need to inform us of any changes you believe we should make to the personal information we hold. You can do this by contacting us by any of the methods previously described. Under data protection legislation, you have the right to inspect the personal information we hold about you. You can make a request to do so by contacting us and we will endeavour to respond within 10 working days.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
